Pemba, Finally!
Ola guys! I know I always
apologize for taking a while to post. Let me apologize once more, only this
time, I have a decent reason.
We moved to Pemba about a month
ago. We have most things, like our beds, table, chairs, couches, dishes, and
other things. But there is one thing that we do not have: WiFi. I know you’re
thinking, typical modern tween girl
wanting WiFi. But honestly, I use WiFi to communicate with my friends and
to give you all updates. So, it’s pretty annoying not having it. But that is
not the point of this post, my good friends. This post is about Pemba!
Okay, so like I said, we’ve been in
Pemba for a little over a month, I think. It’s actually really cool watching
how everything is coming together. The beds, then the couches, then the table,
bookshelves, etc. We’ve had all of our wooden furniture made by carpenters.
Our “hallelujah moment” was when we
received our crate. Before we left, my mom and dad packed a large crate. It had
our electric piano, my dad’s guitar, LOADS of dishes, and a TON of books. It
was like Christmas. And I’m not kidding. All of the dishes were wrapped up in
paper and so we were unwrapping dishes for about an hour.
Last week we started school. We go
to the International School of Pemba aka ISP. It goes by the Cambridge system.
It’s going well. I’m doing piano. I’m learning new things in class, and I’ve made some friends.
On Friday we had Poetry and Dance Day. Our class performed two songs altogether called "Twist Again" (60’s anyone?) and "Heal The World" (by Michael Jackson). I also helped lead "Better When I’m Dancin’" by Megan Trainor.
I don’t really have that much more to say. Thank you for your prayers and support! We are going to a meeting in a week, so when that’s over I will post about that. I may post before that.

Okay, one more thing. Have you
heard of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series? I’ve been reading them. If
you get a chance, you should check it out. Sorry, that’s all. š
This is Gracie, signing off.
