Cape Town and Mid-Terms (Did I mention I'm twelve?)
Have you ever gotten home from a long but fun day at the park, and you are so ready to eat that leftover spaghetti and get in bed? You eat your dinner and change into your pj's only to remember: Darn it, I still need to take a shower. So then you have to get up, out of your VERY comfortable position, and spend the time that you would like to be in bed catching up on Fixer Upper or Kid's Baking Championship taking a shower. AND your siblings/spouse already used all of the hot water. Just great ...
Well, that's how I feel. Not literally, but it's, um, a metaphor. Kind of.
Okay, I'll admit, that's kind of over-dramatic. Why am I talking about showers? Let me get to the point: We spent a long time in South Africa hanging out with friends, enjoying Mexican food, and making memories with grandparents. It was so much fun! Cape Town (aka "The Cape") is so beautiful! The mountains and beaches are worth the plane ride, most definitely. But the thing is, after all of those good times, we returned home and were faced with studying, quizzing, more studying, and our midterm exams! (Cue the awkward laughter ...)
It wasn't too bad, and I'm pretty happy with my scores. (However, my science score will remain a secret forever :)) I suppose at this point, most of the American kids are taking their final exams. I guess we're all suffering, then. Haha, just kidding. (Not.)
Right before we came home, Cyclone Kenneth hit Northern Mozambique. Many houses were flooded. The roads were terrible (I mean, more than normal). My dad was very busy helping out. So that's one request I would like to ask prayer for. God has been moving in so many ways and there are so many people trying to help out!
One more thing before I sign off. I turned twelve!
Yay! I am finally old enough to go to MK (missionary kid) camp. And I'm a preteen. Or was I before? I want to blame my weird rants on that. Haha, maybe that's why I'm saying such awkwardly funny stuff ... hmmm ... Congress should fund a study on twelve-year-old behavior ....
Thank you all so much for your prayers! Make sure to check out my mom's newest post here. Hope your week is as great as you are! God is doing great things in you and through you. So tchau for now!
Love, Gracie ;)
P.S. Check out John Crist on YouTube if you haven't. You won't regret it!

Hey Gracie,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Ben and I live in the U.S. (I know that's pretty boring right Lol) Anyway you remind me a lot about my cousin Eden that is a missionary in Indonesia. Your enthusiasm and love for Jesus is super encouraging. Keep it up! (Also, can you accept my friend request in the bible app so I can not only have more friends, but be able to invite other people to read plans with me. Atomic is the username btw) Praying for you and your family and that God works in and through your work in Mozambique!
-Ben
Thanks! Haha, there are perks being in the U.S. though.
DeleteThat's awesome! Praying for your cousin as well.
No problem. Your prayers seriously mean so much! God is doing great things here, and it's been so amazing getting to know the places and people.
Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
Hi Gracie! I will be praying for you. Can't wait to see you at MK Camp!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks. I can't wait either! 😄
