July Update; Happy 4th of July!!
What’s up guys? Happy 4th of July! π
π₯³
While we didn’t get to watch fireworks or have a family cookout, and we had to
go to school, we still enjoyed it. I actually wrote a poem about it. It was
originally in Portuguese, but I translated it:
My Country
Red, white, and blue
The colors of my country
Colors of love, of war, of victory
Red, white, and blue
The colors of my past
There are no words that can describe the beauty
of the flag
Of union
Of hope
One minute
of silence
The
people who gave their lives
We honor
Red, white, and blue
The colors of bravery
And for all time I will say
That the colors
Red, white, and blue
Are the colors of me
I hope you guys like it! We finished our Mid-Terms and break
a few weeks ago. My tests went very well, so thanks for your prayers on that :)
A couple weeks ago we had our first team from Quail Springs
Baptist Church, so if you ever read this, thank you so much! We were overwhelmed
with American food and candy, in a good way. It was basically Christmas in
July. And actually, we have a team from Portland Avenue Baptist Church right
now. I would like to ask for your prayers as this team helps us teach bible
study and English. They will also be visiting villages and houses of some church
members.
Some other things that have happened are:
I had a recital at a restaurant here, where I played piano.
Some other kids played piano, recorder, and sang.
I have also performed at another restaurant, but I don’t think
we’ll be going back there in a while…
My brother Ben’s birthday was the 26th of June,
so we got to celebrate that. It was a lot of fun, and I’m so thankful that he’s
my brother. My life most definitely wouldn’t be complete without him.
On the topic of birthdays, my little brother Asher’s
birthday is coming up on the 17th! Yay, he is such a blessing, even
when he’s annoying. π Love you so much, Asher! He’s turning 4.
I cannot believe it!!
One of our colleague’s sons named Dylan just started a
YouTube channel! It’s going to be awesome, so I hope you guys can check it out
and subscribe. If you remember Joy, this is one of her brothers. Check it out here.
Before I end this, I wanted to share a quote with you guys
that has been really encouraging to me:
If you feel like God isn’t there, remember:
The teacher is always silent during the test :)
So yeah guys, thanks so much for your unending love and
support! Until next time this is Gracie signing off, tchau! :)
Hey Gracie! Love the poem!π I miss you sooo much!
