Self-Care 101
Hey guys! So, I'm pretty sure at this point we all have a lot of time on our hands. It's funny...before when we were busy we wanted more time. And now that we have all the time in the world? We have no clue what to do with it. Is that just me?
Anyhoo, one of the things I've really been trying to work on recently is keeping up with self-care. Now we have a lot more time to take time for ourselves, it's the perfect time to work on self-care.
Self-care looks like different things for different people. For some, it means working out. Others, it means having a pamper/spa day or sitting in bed all day, vibing with some chill music and a good book. Today I want to give you guys some ideas for self-care. I hope you get some inspiration!
1. Have a Pamper/Spa Day
I wanted to kick off this list with one of my favorite things: having a pamper/spa day. These are so relaxing and chill, they're great to have. Some things you can do: face/hair masks, lip/body scrubs, whiten your teeth, take a long bath/shower, do something you love, and wear comfy clothes. If you're doing any DIYs or anything that needs preparation, I recommend doing those the day before so you can chill and won't have to do anything the day of :)
2. Work On Your Routines
Since I have so much time on my hands now, I've decided to work on my routines. These include skin-care, workout, and daily routines. Routines are great because if we work on them now, hopefully they'll become habits. It helps a lot to write your routines down and make them actual "routines" instead of just things I do. When you create routines, you'll find yourself more organized and doing the things you need to do :)
3. Keep a Journal
I have a bullet journal and it's been really helpful in keeping track of my habits and my mood. If you don't want the full responsibility of keeping a journal, you can keep track of small things in a notes app, on a document, or just a small notebook. There are different types of journaling, so find out what works best for you! Some more ideas: write down thoughts you had during the day, what you're grateful for each day/week, prayers, any brainstorms you get during the day, a summary of your day, etc. There are so many ways to do this, and Pinterest is probably my biggest inspiration for journaling! Here is a board on Pinterest that I made with some ideas for journaling :)
4. Clean
Although it's not my favorite thing to do, cleaning always helps me feel a lot more productive and organized. You don't have to do a full room declutter, just organizing a drawer or sorting some clothes is totally fine. It's all up to you! Here are some ideas: make your bed, organize/sort your clothes, declutter your phone, tablet, or computer, clean your room, organize your dresser, organize your schoolwork, and clean your yard.
5. Workout/Stay Active
I am definitely not the most active person out there. Like at all. But I do enjoy the feeling of accomplishment from finishing a workout or being active. Even if you can't go to a gym or out running right now, you can still do workouts or yoga on YouTube. You can also ask your siblings to go outside and play a game with you! Don't overwork yourself, but don't cheat yourself either. If you know you can do it, do it. Try your best :)
6. Do What Makes You Happy!
This is pretty self-explanatory. Do things you enjoy! If you're having a bad day, cheer yourself up by doing something you love. Whether it's reading a book, playing music, dancing, sleeping, or talking to friends. If it makes you happy, go for it!
That's all for today guys! Comment down below if you'd like more in-depth posts on any of these topics. I hope you found this post helpful and that you'll try some of these things out when you're feeling like you need some self-care time. :) Also, I have a self-care board on Pinterest that you guys can check out here. I love you guys so much, and I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by <3
Love, Gracie ;)
Thanks Gracie! I've been wanting to start a routine but I never do it consistently. And like you said, now that we have more time, maybe I can consistently do a routine. I also want to start bullet journaling and working out more. I've always wanted to stay healthy but I'm not necessarily the best at it.πThanks for the ideas. Love you!❤π€π₯°
